Movember – Move It Coasteering Challenge

We've been inspired to get involved this year due to a fellow Swanage resident and her Mo story, Alice Dorrington.

November’s here, which means it’s time to celebrate Movember!

If you haven’t heard of it (where have you been?!), Movember is an awesome charity that raises massive amounts of awareness and money for Men’s health every year.

Their motto is to help men live happier, healthier and longer – who can argue with that?

Every year during November they encourage men to get involved by growing a moustache and ask friends, family and colleagues to make a donation to Movember for the ensuing ridiculous facial transformation. This year, they’re encouraging everyone to ‘Move It’, get outside, take a challenge and push yourself. That’s where Land & Wave comes in!

We challenge you (Men, Women & Children – age 8 min) to come Coasteering with us on November 27th (enough time to grow your ‘Mo’ too). We’re offering you half price sessions – £25pp and for every booking we’ll donate £5 to Movember!

If you don’t know what Coasteering is then don’t worry we’re here to educate you.

You’ll be donning wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets, shoes and gloves and launching yourself off the Jurassic Coast and into the sea. Coasteering is one of the most exhilarating and challenging ways to explore the sea – you’ll traverse along ledges, clamber up rocks, leap into the water and have the best time ever.

If you’ve ever wanted to try it then this is your chance, if you want to conquer a fear (heights or even just getting in the English sea in Winter!) or challenge yourself then THIS IS IT!

She’s been proudly blazing the MoSista trail since 2010 with her Father, Rick Dorrington and has been carrying on his legacy since he sadly passed in 2012. Since then, she’s raised an incredible amount of money in a number of exuberant ways including wearing a moustache on the London Tube throughout the whole of November.

As she says – ‘We decided not to focus on the looming tragedy, but instead work together to build a legacy in the name of Rick Dorrington. This is the point at which we discovered Movember. Movember’s playful approach to tackling serious issues head-on resonated with both Dad and myself. We put our thinking caps on: how could we get involved?’
